My initial love for Lilly Pulitzer began only about 2 years ago after some minimal weight loss (thanks Monjauro!)
I decided against my better judgement (because who would wear such bright happy clothing) to enter into a Lilly Pulitzer store with my husband @ the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Un-beknowing to me, this is the largest LP boutique in the company, so I was surrounded by Pinks, Greens, Florals, Prints galore and I was like a little girl in a fairy princess shop. I tried on 5 dresses, of which I felt beautiful in every single dress.
Over the next few months, my weight started shifting more and I was continuing to lose weight, but just spent all that money on those dresses. I continued to buy over the next year and have amassed a collection of Lilly shifts, maxis, midis, leggings, tops, sweaters, accessories, swimsuits and more. All needing to be recycled as pretty much new since I was only able to wear them once or not even at all due to the rate of which I was losing weight. I learned very quickly to NOT remove the tags as soon as I hang them them in my closet, as re-selling them was going to be a lot easier with them being NWT (new with tags).
Ove this time, it became a THING for ME. I knew that i'd found a clothing brand for the long term, and this wasn't just a love affair or a fling, it was a lifetime commitment and bond, yep, with a clothing brand.
A year later, 60 pounds lighter, i have gone through numerous outfits and size changes. I have so much Lilly that is unused, with tags and sitting with no one to love. I feel like keeping them is a bad omen, that will somehow subconsciously have my mind thinking its ok to gain the weight back, so i chose to re-sell them. I tried Poshmark, which they are all still listed there, but at a very higher price due to the 20% commission that they take. While it was a good starting platform for what I was doing, I wanted something more, that I could control, which brings me here!
